From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

My book is bundled up with Nikki Walton's Better Than Good Hair and Lorraine Massey's Curly Girl

{REPOSTED FROM FACEBOOK} Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that I'm a published author whose book is actually selling lol  But even more amazing is when I see my little ol' book bundled up with books backed by powerful marketing & publishing houses!

i AM foxy brown. a curly fro tutorial inspired by pam grier.

I came across this picture of Pam Grier and KNEW I had to recreate this look!  The only problem is, my hair doesn't stand up like that - especially in the crown - so simply picking it out wouldn't have given me this supa flyy look! Why doesn't your hair stand up?  You may be wondering.  Well, I think it may be for several reasons, one being that it's longish and another likely has to do with my natural hair texture.  Regardless of all that, though, I WANTED that fro!

WANTED: Talented, creative artist to illustrate children's book!

Why do you need an illustrator?  Well, I've written a children's book!  Actually, this book was written before 10 Easy Steps To Go Natural Without Cutting Your Hair Off! but it just so happened that I wasn't able to get it published first...mostly because I need a talented, creative artist to illustrate my children's book.

What's the book about?  Much like my first published work, 10 Easy Steps To Go Natural Without Cutting Your Hair Off!my children's book is a self-esteem book.  This book is geared toward little girls with highly textured hair.

What kind of art are you looking for?  CREATIVE art!  The images may be hand drawn or rendered with Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, etc. but they MUST BE ORIGINAL.  Finalized art for the book must be submitted digitally at a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Who is the ideal candidate?  For starters, candidates must be at least 18 years old.  In a perfect world, the illustrator I work with will be female who ROCKS her highly textured tresses!  But of course, the world isn't perfect, so naturally, I will consider submissions from men OR women, regardless of how they wear their hair.  What's more important than the sex or hairstyle of the artist, is that they are dependable and motivated.  Candidates must be willing to return email and voice messages within 24 hours and work under VERY tight deadlines.  STUDENTS looking to build their professional portfolio are strongly encouraged to submit!
